In an effort to collaborate better with the community, the Swatara Township Police Department is asking all residents and business with cameras to register with the police department. Access to video following a crime can be the difference in solving the crime or not. To register your camera click here.
If you need a police officer to be dispatched to your location or to call you on the telephone, please contact Dauphin County Communications at 717-558-6900. For emergencies call 911. The receptionist at the police department does not have the means by which to dispatch police officers. Thank you.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 1:28 am, Swatara Police were dispatched to the 5600 block of Derry Street, Hbg, for a report of a single vehicle crash with an injury. The driver Justin Snell, W/M/28, Hbg, was arrested for Driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance.
On Sunday, May 18 th , 2014, at 0101 a.m., Swatara Police stopped a vehicle on Orchard Drive near Reading Street. An investigation on scene lead to the arrest of the driver Danielle Hill, B/F/29, Hbg, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance.
On June 9 th , 2014, at 10:40 pm, Swatara Officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 6535 Grayson Rd, for a report of three persons in custody for retail theft. On 5/17/14, at 0336 am, Swatara Police made a traffic stop in the 500 block of Eisenhower Blvd. The driver, Maricelis Feris-Gonzalez, H/F/22, Hbg, was charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance and two summary traffic citations.
On May 17 th at 3:36 am, Swatara Police made a traffic stop in the 500 block of Eisenhower Blvd for a traffic violation.
