Corporal Shawn Moore named Swatara Township Police's OFFICER OF THE YEAR 2020
The Swatara Township Police Department is pleased to announce Corporal Shawn Moore as the 2020 Officer of the Year. Cpl Moore was presented with this honor during the Township Commissioner meeting on January 13, 2021.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a police officer? The Swatara Township Police Department will be hosting its 8th annual Citizens Police Academy for residents and non-residents in March of 2021. The academy will give citizens an inside look at all of the different aspects of policing. Swatara Township Police continue to receive an outpouring of support from our community. In a way to assist our residents with showing their support for our Officers we created a "We Support Our Police" yard signs.
In the past week we have seen a lot in interest from the public in purchasing these signs. We have updated the signs to include pictures of our K-9 partners and K-9 logo.
The Swatara Township Police Department started a new initiative involving the uniform badge patches that our police officers wear each day. Three new specialty patches were created so that our officers can help show support throughout the community for Breast Cancer Awareness, Autism Awareness and Military Appreciation. Not only will you see our officers wearing these patches throughout the year, but you can show your own support by purchasing one of the Swatara Township Police Sp
In an effort to collaborate better with the community, the Swatara Township Police Department is asking all residents and business with cameras to register with the police department. Access to video following a crime can be the difference in solving the crime or not. To register your camera click here.
Since 2009 the Swatara Township Police Department is accredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission and the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association
If you need a police officer to be dispatched to your location or to call you on the telephone, please contact Dauphin County Communications at 717-558-6900. For emergencies call 911. The receptionist at the police department does not have the means by which to dispatch police officers. Thank you.
