On Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at approximately 8:20 PM, Steelton Borough Police received a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Frank S. Brown Boulevard (Adams Street). The victim of the shooting was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. 

On September 1st, 2022, with the assistance of the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service, Mr. Melvin Thomas, age 43 of the 600 block of North 2nd Street in Steelton, was taken into custody in reference to this incident. Mr. Thomas is charged with numerous crimes, including Aggravated Assault and Prohibited Possession of a Firearm. 

Mr. Thomas is currently incarcerated at Dauphin County Prison, with a bail set at $50,000.
