Steelton Borough Police would like to announce that trick-or-treating will take place on Saturday, October 31st, from 6pm-8pm.
On Wednesday, 9-2-2020, Steelton Borough Police were dispatched to the 500 block of North Front Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 39-year-old Ismail Lewis, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Lewis did succumb to his injuries on scene. The Steelton Borough Police Department began an investigation with the support of the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office, the Dauphin County Forensic Unit, and several other surrounding jurisdictions.
Ticketing for street sweeping violations in the Borough of Steelton began today, Monday, July 27th, 2020, and will continue until the end of November. The Borough of Steelton and its Police Department are outraged by the criminal acts of Derek Chauvin and the other Minneapolis Police officers involved in the tragic death of George Floyd. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. There is no justification for the horrific actions that took the life of Mr. Floyd, as our Department stands against brutality and inequality.
On Friday 04-17-2020 the Steelton Police Tactical Narcotics Team executed a search warrant in the 700 block of South 2nd Street.
Steelton Borough Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the following individual. On 3-2-2020 at approximately 12:50pm, officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 803 South Front St for a report of a theft. Upon viewing surveillance footage, officers observed the suspect walk into the store with no merchandise, pick up an item, then fraudulently return it for cash.
On 09-30-19 Michael D. Magaro II plead guilty to 3rd degree murder, firearms offenses and tampering with evidence at the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. The Honorable William Tully sentenced Magaro to 25 to 50 years in a state correctional facility. This stems from an incident that occurred on 11-06-17 in the 400 block of North Front Street in the borough of Steelton.
On 03-11-19 at the corner store on South 4th Street at Poplar Streets a victim left her wallet lying on a counter in the store. When she returned and recovered it there was $200.00 missing from the wallet. Officers were able to obtain video of the suspect taking the money out of the wallet.
The Steelton Police are requesting the public's help in identifying a suspect who during the course of a sale inside the Turkey Hill on Sunday 04-29-18 did steal the employee's ZTE Boost Mobile cell phone. The suspect is described as a possibly 30 year old heavy set black male wearing a black jacket with a black, white and blue checkers. He was last seen in a silver sedan.
On Saturday 3/24/18 at approximately 0130 hours, STEELTON POLICE TNT Unit did stop a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver was identified as Brad Strauser and his passenger was identified as Tara Yeany. The officer recognized a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The Steelton Police are investigating a vehicle theft that occurred on 02-03-18 in the 300 block of South 2nd Street. A delivery driver parked his 2016 gray Nissan Rogue KGS-7038 to make a delivery and it was stolen at that time. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Steelton Police at 717-939-9841.
The Steelton Police are investigating a burglary that took place on 01-19-18 in the 300 block of Bessemer Street. The suspects kicked in the door and stole a shotgun, Dell computer and a black in color cat that goes by the name "Mrs. Pickles". On 12-05-18 the Steelton Police responded to the 200 block of North Front Street for a disturbance. Officers arrived and found that Monaesha Mcnair and Delmar King where extremely intoxicated and under the influence of marijuana.
The Steelton Police are currently investigating a burglary that occurred on 12-30-17. Surveillance video did capture a picture of the suspect involved and we are asking the publics help in identifying him. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Steelton Police at 717-939-9841.
During the month of October 2017, a man answered an add on Craigslist personals with the intention of meeting another for a mutual adult sexual encounter.
The Steelton Police are investigating a stolen vehicle incident that occurred today in the 100 block of Frank S. Brown Blvd. A 2013 blue Hyundai Sanata was stolen with the keys left inside the vehicle. The registration is Pennsylvania JTZ-8652. The Steelton Police are requesting the publics help with an armed robbery that occurred on 12-17-17. A Domino's Pizza delivery driver was robbed at gun point by two black males for her cell phone and money. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Steelton Police at 717-939-9841.
The Steelton Police are investigating a strong armed robbery that occurred at the Turkey Hill. The victim was withdrawing money from the ATM machine when a black male in his late twenties to early thirties grabbed the money and debit card out of her hand and fled on foot. The Steelton Police are requesting the publics help in identifying three individuals involved in a retail theft at the R & K Variety Store. They were seen fleeing from the scene in a green and brown Ford SUV. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Steelton Police.
The Steelton Police are investigating a theft of a vehicle that occurred in the 300 block of South 2nd Street. A delivery person stopped to make a delivery and his Mazda 3 was stolen. The vehicle was recovered in the Sheetz parking lot located on Paxton Street a short time later. Three females were seen fleeing the scene on foot.
The Steelton Police are currently investigating a scam using Craigslist. A victim who responded to an advertisement to rent the house at 687 Paxton Street in the borough did send a money gram to an out of state address for $1000.00 as a deposit to rent the property.
The Steelton Police are currently asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in the attached photos. The suspect did arrange through an online website to purchase a white 2011 BMW 335i. While at the Turkey Hill parking lot in Steelton the suspect did steal the BMW and fled outside the borough.
After a successful five week pilot program the Steelton Police are now fully operational with body worn cameras. Each officer has an assigned Axon Body Worn Camera which will be worn during their shifts.
On 02-07-19 the Steelton Police completed a drug investigation in the 300 block of Pine Street for persons selling cocaine. Officers were assisted by the Dauphin County Sheriff's Office with executing a search warrant on the suspect's residence. Officers did recover crack cocaine, marijuana, packaging materials and digital scales.
During the last week of September the Steelton Police conducted an undercover detail with assistance from the Dauphin County Drug Task Force in reference to persons dealing heroin in the borough. In the 700 block of South River Alley officers did arrest Kylel Brown after he sold two bundles of heroin.
On 12-31-19 at approximately 6:30pm, Steelton Borough Police were dispatched to the 800 block of South Front Street for a report of a retail theft. Officers spoke to the complainant who stated that an older black male left without paying for a bed comforter. The Steelton Police are investigating a theft that occurred on Sunday 06-30-19 in the 600 block of Saint Mary's Drive.
On Tuesday 11-20-18 at approximately 1:38 p.m. the Steelton Police responded to the 300 block of North 3rd Alley for a shots fired call were several shots were heard residents.
The Steelton Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred today around noon on Second Street at Frank S. Brown Bllvd. One victim was reported with non life threatening injuries. We believe this is an isolated incident with no danger to the public.
The Steelton Police are investigating two stolen vehicles that were taken from Lincoln Street. The first incident was reported on 09-27-18 in the 500 block of Lincoln Street where a silver BMW X5 was stolen. The BMW was found in a gas station by the Delaware State Police three days later abandoned.

On Sunday morning 05-26-19 at approximately 6:00 a.m. the Steelton Police responded to the areas of South 4th Street and Swatara Streets for a report of an armed robbery with a shot being fired.
The Steelton Police recently charged two residents each with 9 counts of endangering the welfare of children due to an investigation that began back in October. On 10-19-18 officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Spruce Street when it was discovered that eight children ranging in ages from 1 to 10 years of age where left home alone. On 12-27-18 the Steelton Police while conducting a drug investigation did witness three persons selling drugs in the 100 block of South 4th Street. Officers did arrest Dupri Andrews-Flemister, Jonathan Johnston Jr.
On 09-20-18 the Steelton Police along with members of the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office did conclude a drug investigation in the 100 block of South 2nd Street.
