With the holiday season approaching, the Steelton Borough Police Department wants to send a friendly reminder to all residents to keep an eye out for package delivery thefts in the upcoming months.  Here are some helpful tips for deterring package thieves:

• Have delivery alerts sent to your phone and/or e-mail
• Set delivery times for when you know someone will be home
• Require a signature upon delivery
• Notify your trusted neighbors so they can monitor your package and/or keep it safe with them
• Invest in home security tools for your porch such as motion detectors and/or cameras
• Send your package to a safe, third-party location such as your workplace, an Amazon Locker, or UPS Store
