On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, the Highspire Borough Police Department, received a complaint from a local business who received a fake $100 bill. The fake $100 bill passed is likely leftovers from movie sets and are available to be purchased online. We have circled two sections of the bills that should be checked by anyone who encounters a $100 bill. This includes looking for the words “For Motion Picture Purposes”, on both sides of the paper, and the words, “In Props We Trust”, on the back center of the paper. The bills look real. Don’t be fooled by people who are in possession of these fake papers. This is our first incident where someone has actually passed the prop money, and we don’t want you to be the next victim.
