The Highspire Borough Police Department, is investigating the theft of a package from a residential porch in the 500 Block of Second Street. The incident was captured on a home surveillance camera on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, sometime before 6 PM. A white male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a bull decal on the front of the sweatshirt, is observed walking up to the front porch of the residence, then creep down near the front door with the intention to make himself small and unnoticeable. The thief then reaches his arm towards a delivered package which laid on the porch deck, near the front entrance door, and snatches the package then runs off with it. We want to remind everyone that “Porch Pirate” thefts are increasing and we recommend the following to help reduce the possibility of your packages getting stolen.

1. Consider having the package shipped to a trusted neighbor or to your work place.
2. Ask the shipper to hold packages until you can safely pick them up at their facility.
