On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, as a result of heavy snow forecasted for Wednesday, December 16 thru December 17, 2020, Highspire Borough has declared a snow emergency. For the duration of the emergency, in order to safeguard the general welfare and permit free travel of authorized and emergency vehicles to proceed without unnecessary hindrance, all persons are hereby ordered and directed to remove all vehicles parked within all designated weather/snow emergency evacuation routes. All parking along emergency evacuation routes: Broad Street (East curb), Paxton Street, (North curb), Penn Street (West curb), Race Street (South curb), Roop Street (South curb), Vine Street (South curb), Willow Street (East curb) and Second Street (East curb), shall be prohibited. All persons are further ordered and directed not to operate motor vehicles in the Borough, except for essential travel or to preserve health and safety. If you have to travel and become disabled, DO NOT get out of your vehicle and dial 9-1-1 for assistance.
For the duration of the snow emergency, all persons are directed to obey all orders and directives of Highspire Borough Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and all other duly constituted peace officers, regarding routes for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
This Snow emergency shall remain in effect for a period of seven (7) days, and thereafter if necessary.
