On Thursday, December 18, 2014, Angel M. Menabruno (a.k.a. Angel Bruno-Mena) pleaded guilty to multiple charges including two counts of Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, one count of Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin, three counts of Criminal Conspiracy, and counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children and Corruption of Minors. After pleading guilty, the Menabruno was sentenced to 4-8 years’ incarceration. Menabruno was charged following a three-month investigation by the Harrisburg Police Department’s Drug Task Force. Specifically, Menabruno was charged with selling a bundle (10 bags) of heroin on two occasions in the 1700 block of Derry Street.
During the second transaction, which occurred on November 21, 2013, the Defendant brought his 16-year-old son with him. Menabruno was also charged with using his 16-year-old son during two additional drug transactions (one on December 13, 2013, and one on January 6, 2014) in which Menabruno arranged to sell heroin to undercover detectives, and ultimately used his 16-year-old son to deliver the heroin to undercover detectives. This months-long investigation ended when the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Menabruno’s residence at 1605 Hunter Street. During the execution of this search warrant, officers found 270 baggies of heroin, or 3.32 grams, packaged for sale. Additionally, officers found $3,848, numerous plastic baggies used to store and transport heroin, and a plastic bag containing bath salts. Finally, officers found the defendant’s young children, ages 5 and 7, within the house, leading to the charge of Endangering the Welfare of Children.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Andrew Jarbola.
