September 21, 2015- Commonwealth v Detrail Foster: Immediately prior to a trial by jury, 17-year-old Detrail Foster pled guilty Monday to robbery and conspiracy charges stemming from a series of armed robberies committed on February 15, 2014. Foster, along with co-defendants Yerou Johnson, Sedik Clayton, and Marcell Turner, robbed two people at gunpoint in the area of North 6th Street and Radnor Street in Harrisburg City around 5:00 p.m. First, the defendants robbed a 19-year-old victim at gunpoint. The defendants stole personal items from the victim, and assaulted the victim by punching and kicking him. They broke his nose in the process. They also broke two pairs of the victim’s glasses, and discarded the victim’s belongings shortly thereafter.
The defendants robbed their next victim at gunpoint approximately ten minutes later near the same intersection of North 6th Street and Radnor Street. Foster admitted that he was the gunman during this robbery, and that he and his co-defendants threatened to shoot the victim. The defendants stole – then threw away – the victim’s headphones before fleeing the area as police arrived.
Foster was the last of his co-defendants to plead guilty. Pursuant to a negotiated plea agreement, Foster pled guilty to two counts of Robbery and two counts of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. He was sentenced to incarceration for 3 ½ to 8 years in a state correctional institute.
Detective Christopher Krokos of the Harrisburg Bureau of Police was the investigating and arresting officer in this case. Deputy District Attorney Chris Jason prosecuted the matter on behalf of the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.
