October 28, 2015- Commonwealth v Ivan Holloway: After a two day trial a Dauphin County jury this week convicted Ivan Holloway on October 28, 2015, of three counts of burglary, and one count each of attempted burglary and flight to avoid apprehension. On September 20, 2014, a witness spotted Holloway carrying items out of her neighbor's garage. She did not recognize Holloway as someone related to the home so she called 911 to report a possible burglary. When police arrived they spotted Holloway carrying items described by the witness. When police approached Holloway, he dropped the stolen items and fled on foot. Police followed Holloway. Holloway, in an attempt to evade the police tried to kick down the door of a nearby residence. When he was unable to get into that home he moved the home next door where he successfully broke down that door and entered the home. He proceeded to the homes second floor, exited the home through a window onto the roof. He walked across the roof to the next home and broke a second floor window to gain entry into that home. The female occupant of the home screamed which caused Holloway to go back out onto the roof. By this time additional police units had responded and surrounded the homes. Holloway tried to get away from the police by jumping off the roof but was quickly apprehended by the police. Holloway was charged with burglarizing the home where he was originally spotted removing items from the garage and for burglarizing the two homes he broke into during his attempt to elude the police. The criminal attempt burglary charge was related to home at which he was unable to break down the door.
This case was prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael Rozman. Sentencing is scheduled for December 16, 2015.
