Commonwealth v. Abdou Idrrissa: On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, President Judge Richard A. Lewis sentenced Abdou Idrrissa, formerly of 1164 Mulberry Street, Harrisburg, to 5 ½ years to 11 years of incarceration in a state penitentiary. Idrrissa was convicted in October after a jury trial on the charges rape and indecent assault. The defendant raped an acquaintance at her home on December 31, 2008, in the City of Harrisburg. The Defendant had been a fugitive from justice on the charges until he was apprehended in New York State during February of 2014. After he serves his jail sentence he faces deportation. The Commonwealth credited the victim for her fortitude and courage as she waited for years to see justice served in the case.
The case was investigated by Detective Victor Rivera of the Harrisburg City Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Gettle.
