The Criminal Investigation Division of the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office today filed charges of Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkeness against Sgt. James Bennett of the Middletown Police Department for an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of December 24th in the borough of Middletown. The case was referred to the DA's Office for investigation by Chief Bey. Bennett was off duty at the time of the incident. He had attended a party on Pine Street in the borough when he became disorderly on the sidewalk outside of the party. The charges are summary offenses and Bennett is presumed innocent at this time.
