On October 3, 2019, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police charged Calvin L. McKinney with one count of Perjury. It is alleged that during his murder trial on August 15, 2019, McKinney lied under oath during his testimony. It was originally alleged that on December 29, 2017 McKinney attempted but failed to kill Keynan Guider near 20th and Market Streets in the City Of Harrisburg. During that incident, numerous shell casings were located and an eyewitness identified him as the shooter at trial in mid-August of this year. It was also alleged that on December 31, 2017, McKinney shot and killed Guider in the 1900 block of Brookwood Street in Harrisburg. Both of those cases went to trial in August and McKinney was found guilty of the first incident. The jury was hung on the murder charge resulting in a mistrial. The re-trial of the murder is scheduled for October 21, 2019 but the case will likely not start for a few months.
NOTE: These charges are merely allegations at this time and Calvin McKinney is presumed innocent unless and until he is convicted in court.
