September 26, 2019- Commonwealth v. Tyrese Randolph: Tyrese Randolph waived his preliminary hearing today at the Dauphin County Prison moving his case to the Court of Common Pleas. Randolph, 18 of Harrisburg, is currently charged with murder, robbery, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and theft related charges in the September 4, 2019 murder of eighteen year old Torin Dworchak.
In the early morning hours of September 5, 2019 Harrisburg Police were dispatched to a parking lot at the National Civil War Museum. Upon their arrival, police discovered the body of Dworchak near a guardrail. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Randolph and Nathaniel Acevedo, 20 of Harrisburg. Acevedo is in Tennessee awaiting transport to Harrisburg for prosecution. Police allege that Randolph lured his friend Dworchak to meet him in the city with false promises of hanging out. Once he arrived, Dworchak was robbed and placed in his trunk. He was eventually killed and his body was discarded at the museum.
It is alleged that both men then unsuccessfully attempted to withdraw money with the victim’s bank card at a local gas station before successfully using it to buy clothing and sneakers the next day at the Harrisburg East Mall. Once Acevedo is transported to Dauphin County he will be scheduled for a preliminary hearing.
The case is being prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Stephen R. Zawisky.
NOTE: The charges against Tyrese Randolph are mere allegations and he is presumed innocent unless or until he is convicted in court.
