February 20, 2015- Commonwealth v. Charles Livezey: On Friday, February 20, 2015, Charles Livezey pleaded guilty to Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injury, Fleeing or Eluding Police and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The charges stem from an incident on July 24, 2014 where the defendant was speeding on his motorcycle on Linglestown Road in Susquehanna Township. Susquehanna Township Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but was unsuccessful in doing so, as the defendant was traveling at speeds over 100 miles per hour. The defendant continued on Linglestown Road and turned right at North Front Street. While fleeing on North Front Street, he struck another motorcyclist, causing severe injuries to the other motorcyclist's left leg. The defendant proceeded to flee the scene and attempted to hide pieces of his motorcycle that were damaged from the trash at a neighbor’s house. Through their investigation, Susquehanna Township Detectives found the pieces of the bike the defendant attempted to hide and eventually made contact with the defendant, who admitted to driving his motorcycle, fleeing, and causing the accident. Mr. Livezey received a sentence of 3-6 months in the Dauphin County Prison, work release eligible, with a consecutive two years of probation. He was also ordered to pay restitution to the victim. Detective Donald Cairns from the Susquehanna Police Department was the primary investigator for this case. This case was prosecuted for the Commonwealth by Deputy District Attorney Kristyne Sharpe.
