Commonwealth v Dominic Burno: A Dauphin County jury convicted Dominic Burno, a 43 year old Harrisburg resident, of Felony Criminal Trespass after a two-day trial. Victim Donna Rayson-Hutchinson owned a home on Camp Street in Harrisburg City. Burno, who stayed there with the victim’s nephew and his family from September 2013 to February 2014, was asked to leave by the victim. Burno instead remained in the home from February 2014 to September 2014 despite numerous requests by the victim for him to leave the residence.
Burno rented the residence without the victim’s consent for portions of that time, and forcibly entered the victim’s residence after she changed the locks and screwed the doors and windows shut. Burno ultimately left the residence after Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division Detective William Bryan Jackson began investigating his fraudulent activity. Burno was convicted at trial of Felony Criminal Trespass for “surreptitiously” – fraudulently – remaining in the home after the victim’s multiple requests for him to leave the residence.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 26, 2015. Detective William Bryan Jackson from the Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division conducted the investigation in this matter. Deputy District Attorney Christopher Jason prosecuted the case for the Commonwealth.
