On 09-22-2020 at approximately 2331hrs Middletown Borough Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle seen leaving the area of a call about a possible domestic. Based on the information given, the officer stopped the vehicle to investigate the domestic call.
During the traffic stop, the investigating officer detected the odor of some type of an alcoholic type beverage coming from the driver. The driver was asked to step out of the car and was given standardized field sobriety tests which the driver showed signs of impairment. A check of the car showed that there was an open container of alcohol in the vehicle also.
The driver initially refused to give her identification and would later be identified as a Mariyah Buckner through the booking process. Police tried to place Buckner under arrest which led to a scuffle where as Buckner fought with police causing the officer to suffer minor scrapes and cuts. Buckner was taken into custody and transported to the Dauphin County Booking Center. Buckner refused to submit to a legal blood draw and it was later learned that she was driving under a DUI suspension.
Buckner was initially arraigned as Jane Doe since she refused to provide identification. She will be awaiting her prelim hearing at District Justice David Judy's Office.
