There are three parking permit districts in the Borough of Middletown. These districts allow residents, property owners and businesses to purchase a placard to park in an otherwise restricted location. For police to effectively enforce the ordinance it is important that permit holders properly display their parking placard in their parked vehicle(s). The ordinance defines "Properly Displayed" as meaning the parking placard shall be clearly displayed on the dashboard, placed between the steering wheel and front windshield. Failure to properly display a parking placard may result in a citation for illegal parking.
A properly displayed placard allows police to easily identify vehicles not authorized to park in the district and prevents the inadvertent issuance of a ticket to an authorized vehicle. See below link for the parking ordinances in the borough.
