The Middletown Borough Police Department is alerting members of the community of a potential scam.  Police have been notified that residents have received phone calls from an individual identifying themselves as a Borough of Middletown employee.  The call was regarding their Borough of Middletown Electric Utility Bill.  The caller advised the resident that their electric utility bill is delinquent, then requested a credit card number to pay the delinquent bill.  This is a scam.  The Borough of Middletown does not notify residents of delinquent bills by telephone.  Notifications are made via regular mail or email.

If anyone receives a phone call of this nature do not provide credit card numbers or personal/financial information to the caller and contact the Middletown Borough Police Department at 717-558-6900.
