On March 4, 2021 at about 11:44 pm, a female victim was accosted and ambushed near her residence on Sand Road in Derry Township. The victim had just pulled up by her residence in her vehicle, and was immediately approached by her ex-boyfriend, Dino Ray Manero, Jr., 38, of Pennsburg, PA. Manero allegedly demanded the victim exit the vehicle while he held her at gunpoint with a handgun. Manero used his fist to partially shatter the driver's door window at which time, the victim put the vehicle in drive to attempt fleeing from the location. Manero then shot at the victim, while the victim was attempting to get away from him. All six rounds struck the victim's vehicle, with one bullet grazing the victim's coat and embedding in the interior of the vehicle. Miraculously, the victim was not hit.
Manero fled the scene and was later involved in a police pursuit in Quakertown, ending in a stand-off with the Pennsylvania State Police at his residence in Pennsburg, PA. Manero did voluntarily turn himself over to PSP without incident. Manero was arraigned before MDJ Pelino, denied bail, and remanded to Dauphin County Prison.
