Edward A. McCreath was taken into custody by Swatara Township Police on Friday July 31st, 2020 subsequent to a warrant for his arrest in connection with charges involving Drug Delivery Resulting in Death. This case involved the drug overdose death of Nathan Maurer, 28, of Harrisburg, between July 4, 2019 at 10:00 am and July 5, 2019 at 12:15 am on the property of the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Derry Township. Through investigation by Derry Township Police Detectives, it was determined that McCreath was the one who provided the drugs to Maurer which contributed to his death. McCreath is being held at Dauphin County Prison on $150,000 bail. These charges are mere allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until convicted.
