Come float on the Swatara Creek with Swatara Police this Saturday! Swatara PD is hosting our 4th Annual Swatty Float on July 8th from 11am until 1pm. This is a FREE event where anyone from the public can come to McNaughton Park, located at 8601 Paxton Street (entrance to the water treatment center off of RT 322 east, follow long driveway to the park), and participate in the float. Guests should arrive at McNaughton Park anytime between 11am and 1pm at which time they will be shuttled to Schiavoni Park along the walking trail. Guests will "drop in" at Schiavoni Park and float down the Swatara Creek for about 45-60 minutes. Once guests have arrived back at McNaughton Park, our officers will be there to assist anyone who needs help getting out onto dry land. From there, enjoy FREE hot dogs, chips and drinks while you get to meet our officers and the township's Director of Public Safety, Darrell Reider. Officer Gibson and K-9 Kix will be there too to say hello! All participants ENTER THE CREEK AT THEIR OWN RISK, however Harrisburg River Rescue will be on site to patrol the waterway. All guests MUST bring their own floatation devices to include tubes, life vests, kayaks etc. This event is SHINE ONLY and all updates to the status of the event will be posted on our web portal, swatarapolice.org and our Facebook page. We hope to see you there!
