On Thursday, September 26, 2024, the Swatara Township Police Department will be joining with Hope Collaborative to participate in Save a Life Day 2024.
From 9am through 5pm members of the public can come to the Swatara Township municipal building and receive naloxone. A distribution site will be set up in the front parking lot of the Township building next to Eisenhower Boulevard. This will be one of 15 distribution sites in Dauphin County.
Save a Life Day 2024 is being held in all states East of the Mississippi River and some to the west. In total over 300 counties from 30 states are participating. Last year over 45,000 naloxone doses were distributed country wide in a single day.
The Dauphin County participating agencies are:
Dauphin County Drug and Alcohol Services, Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, Dauphin County Prison re-entry team, Dauphin County Co-Responders, Pyramid Health, UPMC Center for Addiction Recovery, The RASE Project, Hero in the Fight, Derry Township Police Department, Northern Dauphin County Human Services Building, Penn State College of Medicine, Hamilton Health Center, Harrisburg Harm Reduction Project, Daystar Center, Harrisburg Police Department, Genesis House, PPI, Gaudenzia, Swatara Township Police Department.
