The Swatara Township Police Department began the 8th Annual Citizens Police Academy on March 1st, 2021! The first night was kicked-off by Director of Public Safety Darrell Reider, Township Commissioner Tom Connolly, and Police-Community Advisory Councilman Wayne Scott.

The 10-week Academy gives citizens an inside look at all of the different aspects of policing. Topics of discussion for this class will include Patrol and Traffic Enforcement, Police K-9, Forensics, the PA Court System, Community Services, Criminal Investigations, Drug Investigations, Police Administration, Dauphin County CRT (SWAT Team) and many more. Academy classes will include presentations from our officers who are experts in their specific field.
