Coffee with a Cop Continues to Grow

The Swatara Township Police Department hosted their monthly Coffee with a Cop session at the Red Lion Hotel in Swatara Township on 9/19/19.  This program allows community members to sit down with the Director of Public Safety, Darrell Reider, along with other police officers from the department and talk about problems or issues that come up throughout the township or borough of Paxtang.  The Director always starts the meetings with providing crime statistics and trends and following up with any traffic studies or requests made from community members from previous meetings.  The Swatara Township Police Department has been hosting these sessions for several years now and we have continued to see them grow in attendance.  Township representatives as well as township Commissioners and Borough Councilman are usually in attendance as well to help answer questions.  The sessions are usually held in restaurants to provide an opportunity for everyone to sit down and talk about what is happening in and around the township while at the same time enjoying each other’s company with some good food.

This past session, however, was held at the Red Lion Hotel, which became our newest location due to the increases in attendance.  We would like to thank the Red Lion Hotel for their hospitality and for allowing us to use the hotel as a new meeting location.  We encourage residents of Swatara Township and Paxtang Borough to attend these sessions as much as possible because it is great way to stay informed about public safety and hear about all of the different events that are happening within the township and borough.  For dates, times and locations please refer to our department’s Facebook page.
