*Rapidly Rising Swatara Creek Water Level

The Swatara Creek has risen RAPIDLY from Harpers Tavern downstream. The Swatara Township Area has experienced a 2+ foot rise in the past few hours.

***Entrance into the Swatara Creek from Swatara Township's McNaughton and Schiavoni Parks is Restricted until the Swatara Township Police Department determines the area is safe.  We recommend that anyone currently on the creek in the area of these parks exit at Schiavoni.  

There are reports of trees and debris causing issues on the Swatara Creek between Swatara Township and Middletown.  We are currently in the process of getting more information from a drone that is monitoring the Swatara Creek.

Please use caution in the area. More information will be provided when it becomes available.

The walking paths and other activities on dry land remain open for use.
