The 5K Hero Run is BACK for it's 9th year!  Early Bird Registration is OPEN at just $20, now through the end of July.  The 5K Hero Run is a very unique race which allows participants to run through the Harrisburg Mall, throughout the Tecport business area and along Paxton Street.  Race support is provided for all participants to ensure safety.  The 5K Hero Run supports the Swatara Township Police Department's K-9 Unit, Cops for K.O.P.S., the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Keystone Wounded Warriors.  We also offer a 100 yard HERO DASH for kids under the age of 9.  All children under age nine get a goody bag for coming out and participating.  There are cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest times overall for both men and women.  Commemorative Challenge Coin Medals are given out to men and women who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their respective age groups.  There will be FREE photo booths available for everyone as well as face painting for kids and light refreshments.  Let's not forget about our dogs.....members of our K-9 Unit will be present for you to meet and greet!  ALL participants and attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite hero's outfit/costume!  This is always a fun family event year after year and we hope you will consider joining us on November 6th for this year's race!
