Preparations are in motion for this year's 5K Hero Run, which is hosted by the Swatara Township Police Department and presented by Cargill of Camp Hill. This is the 8th year for this event and we are trying to make this the BEST Hero Run yet! It is no secret that over the past 18 months the healthcare field has taken the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be recognizing all healthcare workers during the pre-race ceremony at this year's 5K Hero Run! Those who work in the medical field have been on the front lines fighting through this pandemic and we want to take the time to say Thank You for all of your dedication and hard work.
The 5K Hero Run is taking place on Sunday, November 7th at 9:30am with the pre-race ceremony starting at 9:00am. The race starts and ends at the Harrisburg Mall with a brief portion of the course taking you through the mall! There will be race support for both 5K runners and walkers. The registration fee for the 5K is $25.00 and if you REGISTER BY 10/8/21 you are GUARANTEED a race shirt! We also offer a 100 yard Hero Dash for those 8 years of age and younger, which is $15.
Participants are ENCOURAGED to come dressed in their favorite HERO'S outfit/costume/uniform. An Ironman impersonator will be on site as well!
There will also be light refreshments, free face painting for kids and free photo booth pictures to capture those fun moments with family and friends.
The 5K Hero Run is a fundraiser for the Swatara Township Police Department's K-9 Unit as well as three charities to include Cops for K.O.P.S, Keystone Warriors and the National Fallen Firefighter's Foundation.
