The Swatara Township Police Department received a donation check today in the amount of $13,000 from Platinum Automotive!  Platinum Automotive reached out to our department earlier in the summer with an interest in organizing a golf outing, with all of the proceeds going to our K-9 Unit.  The event took place today at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course.  There was a great turnout from the surrounding community.  Officer Chris Smith and K-9 Santi along with Public Safety Director Darrell Reider and Cpl. Pokrop were present for the check ceremony!  A little over $10,000 was raised through the event however Platinum Automotive rounded it up to an even $13,000 for our police department!  We would like to thank Platinum Automotive for supporting our police department and for organizing such a wonderful event.  Thank you to all of the donors and sponsors who assisted with putting this event together!  Community support is so important to the mission of every police department.  We truly appreciate those who give back and support law enforcement personnel and the job that they do each and every day.
