The Swatara Township Police Department is gearing up for their 2020 Citizen’s Police Academy which starts in January. We are making one last call for anyone interested in attending this program. The Citizen’s Police Academy is open to BOTH residents and non-residents of Swatara Township. It is a class based curriculum that provides an inside look at policing within central Pennsylvania. There are tours built into the program which take the class to various Dauphin County facilities and shows how outside agencies work closely with law enforcement personnel. Classes are taught by our very own officers who are experts within their field. This academy is great for young people who are currently exploring the field of law enforcement as a potential career as well as those who are simply just looking to learn more about what the police do behind the scenes. The Citizen’s Police Academy is open to those 16 years of age or older. The deadline to apply is December 16th, 2019. To apply, please download the PDF application packet and follow the instructions for its return to the police department. If you have any questions regarding this program please refer to the application OR contact Cpl. Pokrop at 717-564-2550 OR via email at bpokrop@swatarapolice.org. We hope to see you there!
