Former US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX) said, “the best way to build a safer community is to know your neighbors and your surroundings. National Night Out triumphs over a culture that isolates us from each other and allows us to rediscover our own communities.”
“National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.” – National Night Out website
For the safety of our residents, the Swatara Township Police is not hosting our normal National Night Out event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However we continue to support the building of stronger communities and encourage all of our residents to turn on their outside lights on October 06, 2020. If you can safely do so while following social distancing, introduce yourself to your neighbors you do not yet know and build a stronger community.
Our Officers will be utilizing their cruise lights for higher visibility during this time. Please allow our Officers to join into your community conversations.
Paxtang Borough will be hosting two block style community events during this time. Our Officers will be joining in these events and look forward to positive contacts with our Borough residents.
