Today is National Night Out against crime.  Your Swatara Township Police Department will be hosting National Night Out today from 6pm to 9pm at Vanatta Park (4800 block of Derry Street, behind 7-11).  Come join our police officers in a relaxed, family fun atmosphere.  National Night Out brings community members together with law enforcement for one reason, to take a stand against crime in and throughout our neighborhoods.  There will be FREE food and drinks along with plenty of fun activities and entertainment for people of all ages.  There will be a police K-9 demonstration taking place at 6:45pm along with a visit from Stat Medivac's helicopter at around 7:45pm.  We have a juggling act, face painting, inflatable obstacle course and of course our favorite, the mechanical bull for all to enjoy.  Over 60 vendors from all across the central Pennsylvania area will be present.  Join our officers for some cornhole fun OR kids can try their skills at our basketball free throw shooting contest.  There will also be a Fatal Vision station where participants can use some of our alcohol/marijuana goggles as they navigate through field coordination tests.  This year's National Night Out is sure to be a blast for everyone and we hope you can join us tonight!
