On January 11, 2023, Director Reider, Deputy Chief Stauffer and the Swatara Township Board of Commissioners issued the following awards to Officers. 

LIFESAVING AWARD

• Awarded to Detective Sergeant Ashley Baluh her actions on September 06, 2022, in which she provided emergency life savings measures which resulted in saving the life of a female.
• Awarded to Officers Anthony Glass, Matt Kieselowsky, Francisco Gonzalez, and Kevin Porter for their actions on December 02, 2022.  These Officers provided emergency life savings measures which resulted in saving the life of a male

AWARD OF MERIT

• Awarded to Sergeant Scott Neal for his actions on September 09, 2022.  Sergeant Neal observed suspicious activity that led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of its two occupants.
• Awarded to Officer Mick Snyder for his actions on August 07, 2022.  During the overnight hours Officer Snyder located an individual acting suspiciously.  Through Officer Snyder investigation he determined the individual had stolen property on their person and was able to recover a stolen vehicle that the owner had not yet noticed was stolen. 
• Awarded to Officer Matt Kieselowsky for his actions on December 03, 2022.  Officer Kieselowsky observed a suspicious vehicle that was driving recklessly.  Officer Kieselowsky attempted to stop the vehicle which led to a brief pursuit before the occupants stopped and fled on foot.  Officer Kieselowsky arrested the operator, recovered the stolen vehicle and other stolen property.

AWARD OF MERIT and combined TEAM ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

• Awarded to Sergeant Jeremy Barrick, Officers Chris Smith, Brett DeGroat, Dominic Payne, Matt Kennedy, Patrick Walsh, and Officer Cody Webster (Lower Paxton Township Police).  Officers were investigating a theft from vehicle where one of the stolen credit cards was actively being used in another jurisdiction.  Officers responded and located the individual who fled in a vehicle and later on foot and on a bicycle.  Officers worked together to apprehend this individual, who was also found to be a fugitive from another state. 

TEAM ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

• Awarded to Sergeant Scott Neal, Officers Adam Leitzell, Francisco Gonzalez, Anthony Glass, Matt Kieselowsky and Kevin Porter for their actions on December 02, 2022, in which the saved the life of an individual (in the above-mentioned December 02, 2022, Life Saving Award).
• Awarded to Detective Sergeant Isaac Levine, Detectives Pat Corkle, Eric Morris, and Ryan Gartland for their criminal investigation, identification, and arrest for two individuals who committed an attempted robbery on May 11, 2022.  The Detectives connected this crime to a stolen vehicle from out of state which was recovered in the Township earlier in the day.  Detectives found that vehicle was taken in a similar fashion to our attempted robbery.  Detectives identified the suspects allowing Patrol to locate and take the individuals into custody.  Their efforts not only solved the crime that occurred in Swatara Township but also crimes in another state and along their route of travel to Swatara Township.
