The Swatara Township Police Department is teaming up with the Harrisburg Area Police Athletic League this Saturday (9/20/25) for a Chicken BBQ Fundraiser for the annual Shop with a Cop event.  Come out to the Wal-Mart/Sam's Club parking lot this Saturday and grab a delicious BBQ chicken platter, while at the same time helping your local community.  The chicken platters will be sold for $12 each and will include a 1/2 chicken, potatoe, dinner roll/butter and applesauce.  All proceeds go to the Harrisburg Area Police Athletic League for their annual Shop with a Cop event.  Shop with a Cop pairs law enforcement officers with children who are less fortunate and/or who have experienced a hardship this past year.  The officers spend time with the children as they help them shop for gifts for members of their family.  All of the gifts are paid for through a grant and raised funds with help from our friends at Wal-Mart of Harrisburg!  

The chicken BBQ will start at 11am in the parking lot area between Sam's Club and Wal-Mart off of Grayson Road.  Platters will be sold up until we sell out.  Come on out this Saturday and support this year's Shop with a Cop event and learn more about what the Harrisburg Area Police Athletic League does for children throughout the greater Harrisburg area.
