The Steelton-Highspire School District hosted a back to school carnival on 9/11/19 to welcome students back for the 2019-2020 school year.  Swatara Police participated in the event by having multiple officers on site to greet the kids and make positive community contacts.  K-9 Kix was present as well with his handler Officer Gibson.  Kix provided a bite demo for all to see!  Assistance also came from our brothers in blue from Steelton PD and the PA State Police.  There was a brief procession involving law enforcement officers and students from the school district in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11/01.  There was food, vendors, games and a whole lot of fun for all of the kids to enjoy.  It was a pleasure being part of such a successful event and we look forward to teaming up with the school district again in the future.
