On Saturday, August 17, 2019, the Swatara Township Police Department K-9 Unit had the great experience of participating in the “Cruzin for K9’s” event at the Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland. The event was organized by the Protection 4 Paws organization.
During this event, Corporal Timothy Bloss and K-9 J.T. performed demonstrations and met with event attendees. Cpl. Bloss and J.T. were then surprised and presented with the Ace WatchDog Wireless for both, K-9 J.T. and K-9 Kix’s vehicles.
The Ace WatchDog Wireless is add-on hardware that monitors the temperature, vehicle battery, and engine working in conjunction with an already installed system on the K-9 vehicles. It has unlimited monitoring range through the internet to anywhere on the planet and works with all brands of Smartphones. Should there be an issue, handlers are able to receive warning notifications through their smartphones before the danger and alarm happens. In addition, Texts & Automated Voice calls to both cellular and landline phones are also programmable.
The Swatara Township Police Department would like to thank the Tina Richardson and the Protection 4 Paws Organization for their generous donation of this equipment to help keep K-9 J.T. and K-9 Kix safe while in their vehicles.
