Swatara Police Host 7th Annual 5K Hero Run

The Swatara Township Police Department would like to thank everyone who came out and supported this year’s 5K Hero Run!  There are so many people to thank for supporting this event through donating items, money, time and man power.  A BIG THANK YOU to the Pennsylvania State Police for bringing out members of their Mounted Police Unit, Faulkner Toyota for donating $10,000 to the K-9 Fund, the Harrisburg Mall for allowing us to use their property and for making several donations toward the event, all of the Fire Police personnel who ensured our participants had a safe course to run through, all of the volunteers who gave up their Sunday morning to help out, ABC27’s Valerie Pritchett for emceeing and promoting the event, the various Fire Departments who came out in support of the race, the sponsors from various businesses and organizations, the Mitstifer family for allowing Gavin to be our honorary guest and everyone else who had a role in making this year’s 5K a success.  We had over 600 registered participants this year!  The money raised from this event will go towards the Cops for K.O.P.S charity, the Keystone Warriors, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Swatara Township Police Department’s K9 fund.  It is truly amazing to see so many people come together for one event and support the first responders and veterans who help keep our country and communities safe for all. For anyone who may have missed the race results list, they can be viewed below. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year as we strive to make this event even bigger!
