The Swatara Township Police Department as well as Swatara Township Commissioners Connolly, Ellis and Bouder welcomed back students of the Central Dauphin School District today. The CDSD is bringing back students at 50% capacity as part of a hybrid model to begin the new school year. Each week students will spend two days at school and three days at home doing online learning. The Steelton-Highspire School District is starting the new school year entirely online for students. The Swatara Police Department will continue to have a strong presence at our schools to ensure the safety of the students throughout the school year. We would like to remind all drivers to be aware that schools are starting back in session throughout this week and next week in the Central PA area and to please allow some extra time in the morning/afternoon due to school bus stops. It is also important to keep in mind that there will be more pedestrian traffic throughout the area with children who may be walking to and from their bus stops. We would like to wish all students a happy and safe return to their school, whether it be in person or online, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the classroom soon!
