**EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING**
Due to the high temperature forecast for Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13 the Swatara Township Emergency Management Agency will open a COOLING STATION at the Swatara Township Municipal Building.
The Cooling Station hours will be from noon until 4:30 p.m. on each of the days listed above. This will give folks a place to get relief from the oppressive heat in a safe indoor environment. The Cooling Station will be located in the "Swatara Room" which is accessible from the main entrance at 599 Eisenhower Boulevard, Harrisburg PA 17111. This is open to the public FREE of charge.
Cold water and light snacks will be served. Restrooms will be available, and there is elevator service to and from the Swatara Room. The Swatara Township EMA, Police Department, and Fire-Rescue will personally monitor the Cooling Station.
Swatara Township EMA Director Craig Powers is coordinating this public service in partnership with Swatara Township Public Safety Director Darrell Reider and Swatara Fire Chief Mike Ibberson.
