The Swatara Township Police Department has been a long time partner of the Harrisburg Area Police Athletic League (HAPAL).  HAPAL provides mentoring through sports to youth with the assistance of members in law enforcement.  Over the last several years HAPAL has hosted a Dancing with the Stars of Harrisburg Gala to help raise funds, which are then used to support various programs for children.  Due to COVID restrictions, HPAL has taken this event virtual and the Swatara Township Police Department is asking for YOUR help to raise money.  Our very own Director of Public Safety, Darrell Reider, has teamed up with dance instructor Jen Cave, Owner of the Rosencrance School of Dance, in order to put his dancing skills to the test.  Director Reider is competing with other law enforcement personnel from the Harrisburg area in a friendly dancing competition.  Here is where you come in.....simply click on the link below to watch all of the dance numbers and then cast your vote!  All of the money raised through this initiative gets put right back into programs that support the youth throughout the greater Harrisburg Area.  There is also an online auction taking place which you can view by following the same link.  Let's get Director Reider to the top!  All votes/donations are greatly appreciated by not only our police department but the members and partners of the Harrisburg Area Police Athletic League.  Voting is open now through September 11th at 5pm.
