On September 18, 2025, at approximately 6:45 pm, the Lower Paxton Bureau of Police were dispatched to the 6400 block of Moline Ln for a report of an assault that had just occurred.   Officers arrived on scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.  During the investigation, Officers identified the suspect as Scott Appel. As Officers advised Appel that he would be under arrest, Appel ran into his residence and barricaded himself inside.  Dauphin County Crisis Response Team was activated and responded to the scene.  CRT Negotiators made numerous attempts with Appel to have him exit his residence, however he refused.  After several hours of negotiations, CRT members made entry into the residence and took Appel into custody. 

Appel was transported to the Dauphin County Booking, where he was charged with (1) count of Simple Assault and (1) count of Harassment.  MDJ Klein arraigned Appel on 9/19/2025 and bail was set at $10,000.00.  Appel posted bail and was released from custody.
