Several Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police Officers participated in the "First To Freeze" polar plunge event to raise funds and awareness for PA Special Olympics. The LP Officers took the plunge and did not hesitate to jump into the cold water. The plunging officers were Sgt Witmer, Sgt Lupey, Cpl Cook, Cpl Langley, Det Wable and Det Vargas. Other participants were from the PA State Police and local fire departments. A fun and refreshing time was had by all!
Lower Paxton Township Police will resume fingerprinting job applicants. Those wanting to be fingerprinted can do so by scheduling an appointment with Community Service Officer Chuck Grubb. CSO Grubb can be reached at 717-657-5656 or at cgrubb@lowerpaxton-pa.gov. The fee for this service is $20.00 for Lower Paxton Township residents and $40.00 for non-residents.
The Medreturn drop-box in the lobby of the police station for disposal of unneeded/unused prescription and over-the-counter medications is accessible between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. To dispose of medications at another time, please call the police dispatcher at 558-6900 and an officer can meet you at the station. Residents are encouraged to remove medications from the labeled prescription bottles and to use a zip-loc bag for disposal.
On the morning 14 September 2022, Senator John DiSanto, the Lower Paxton Township Police, PA State Police teamed up to hold "Coffee with a Cop" at St Thomas Roasters in Linglestown. During the event Officers spoke to many members of the public about concerns and questions. The event was a great opportunity for people to speak with law enforcement officers in an unofficial setting.
