On August 27, 2025 at approximately 2:25am, the Lower Paxton Bureau of Police observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Ramada Inn - 300 N Mountain Rd.  Officers made contact with one of the occupants, who was identified as Hjalmar French of Chambersburg PA.  While Officers spoke with French they observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and additional criminal activity afoot.  The vehicle was impounded and a search warrant for the vehicle was obtained.  The search warrant was served on the vehicle later in the day of August 27, 2025, where over 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine was located and seized.

An arrest warrant was obtained for French charging him with Possession with Intent to Distribute - Methamphetamine and other drug related charges.  On September 4, 2025, French was taken into custody and arraigned by MDJ Wenner.  Bail was set at $85,000 and French was remanded to Dauphin County Prison.
