The Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police along with Penn State Health Children’s Hospital conducted a child safety seat check today at Southside Elementary School. This event was done to raise awareness and to educate the motoring public on child safety seat usage and current restraint system laws.
During this event 13 child safety seats were provided to motorists who needed a child safety seat. The child safety seats were installed and fitted by certified car seat technicians at the event.
Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police Officers contacted motorists who were found to be in violation of the current restraint system laws and issued 20 written warnings and 4 citations during this event.
This event was funded in part by the Lower Paxton Township Police Traffic Safety Grant. It is anticipated that additional events will be conducted throughout the school year. If you need to have a child safety seat installed or checked please contact your local law enforcement agency.
